Sample Size Note: The recommended sample size is 1.3" (33mm) diameter. Smaller diameter samples sizes can be tested although this requires a custom area adapter and yields test data with degraded accuracy specifications.

Sample Temperature Range Note: The range of sample temperatures depends on many factors, including the the chiller setpoint range and the thermal resistance of the sample. The above specified range assumes the use of the recommended chiller with a sample impedance greater than 0.2K/W. Chiller with higher maximum setpoints, will yield a higher maximum sample-temperature range. Samples with resistances less than 0.2K/W will have a lower maximum sample-temperature range. For a wider sample temperature range, the TIM Tester 1400 is recommended.

Contact Pressure Accuracy Note: The accuracy of the contact pressure control is based on the maximum contact pressure of the kit utilized for the maximum sample-area. Although the accuracy of the commanded-to-actual pressures is about +/-2.7% for all kits, the absolute accuracy of the contact pressure achieved will depend on the pressure range kit installed: the smaller the full-span of the kit, the better the absolute accuracy. Changing kits requires a simple hardware change and software parameter selection.
