The Analysis Tech Rjc Universal XY Test Fixture is a high-performance liquid-cooled heat sink for thermal testing of high-power modular-devices at dissipations of up to 2000 watts. This fixture is ideally suited for measuring junction-to-case thermal resistance and impedance on large power-module packages of all device types including IGBT mixed-modules, full and half bridges modules, and large MOSFET modules. Thermal testing of these modules requires that they be firmly clamped to a high-capacity heat sink. With the wide variety of power-module in use today, providing a clamping solution to accommodate the various bolt-hole patterns and dimensions is a difficult task. The Rjc Universal XY fixture provides a universal clamping solution for 2 and 4 bolt modules within a 5"x 8" (125x 200 mm) footprint area. All clamping bolts are located on precision dual XY ball-carriage slides. The Tc Sensor T spring-loaded thermocouple probe provides the centered, case-temperature measurement. An optional additional Tc probe
is also available for an off-center case-temperature measurement.
Temperature controlled coolant water must be supplied to the fixture from a recirculating chiller with a minimum of 1.5 gallon/minute (6 liters/min) at a pressure of 50 psi (350 kPa). Complete mating pairs of drip-free liquid connectors are provided.

A top-mounted combination plug/screw connector or the side-mounted edge-card connector provide convenient connections gate signals, kelvin connections, and Tj sense connections. This design allows the fixture to be quickly reconfigured for any part-type by swapping the part-specific, two-connector wiring harness and repositioning the clamping bolts.
